The Rules in Illinois

If you drive a sedan, all four sides and the rear window can go to 35% VLT. If you drive an SUV, van, or pickup, the front doors stay at 50% or lighter — behind them, any darkness is legal. Illinois allows a nonreflective tint strip on the top 6 inches of the windshield (625 ILCS 5/12-503). Illinois requires the film to be nonreflective; mirrored or metallic-reflective film isn't legal on the front or rear side windows. What will tint cost on my crossover?

From $155 standard or $175 ceramic — crossovers price like anything else, and factory privacy glass in back can shrink the job to just the front doors. Call for an exact number.

How soon can I roll the windows down after install?

Give it a few days. The film needs cure time against the glass before the windows move.

Do you handle fleet or multiple-vehicle bookings?

Can you strip the failing tint the last owner put on?

Removal is routine here, including baked-on adhesive from old film. We quote removal and re-tint together.

Is there anywhere to wait during the install?

You're welcome to wait at the shop, or drop the car — 2–3 hours is a comfortable errand window on Harlem or 95th.

Does darker film mean more heat rejection?

Not by itself. Ceramic film at a legal 35% outperforms cheap dark film on heat — darkness is about light and privacy, the ceramic layer is about temperature.
